Thesis: A study of charmed particle production using the holographic bubble chamber technique.
I spent two years at CERN, working on the HOlographic Bubble Chamber (HOBC) experiment. This was a relatively small experiment, & I was involved in most aspects, including: determining the optimum bubble chamber operating conditions for holographic image recording; the systematic inspection of the holographic images; construction & installation of the associated scintillation counters & multi-wire proportional chambers; development of analysis & Monte-Carlo simulation software; background estimation; & scientific interpretation of the results.
